I've had a few friends ask me to help them learn to sew, but I'm no good at follow through. I finally did for once and Ashley and I made these darling aprons with some fabric from my stash (fabric is the only thing on my Christmas list, by the way). They turned out great!

We used an online tutorial from a Feathered Nest. I accidentally doubled the length of the apron (I wondered why we used so much fabric!), there was a lot of negative space... so we added a pocket. Though we both agree that the long apron is lovely.

Next time I will I would make it the right length, add a small side pocket (if it looked alright), and make the ties half the width. Also, instead of cutting the ties to 37" each we left them long and I would recommend that as well.

This would be a quick and easy project (unless your babies don't nap like ours decided not to) for an expert and a great first project for a beginner.

Thanks for letting me steal your picture Ash! (for a darling picture of Ashley modeling her apron, you'll have to visit her blog... )

Les it was so fun to have you over. Thanks soo, soo much for taking the time to teach me. I just finished the cutest bag for my neice for Christmas--using all the ironing/folding tricks you taught me. :)

We have to do it again soon!!
