In another life...

...I may have been Amy Atlas. I can't remember when I've been so inspired by dessert. I've spent waaay too much time on this site lately. I already wrote about it on our blog, so I guess I'm obsessed. That, and I think we'll be best friends when I move to NYC next year.

I love that she was a lawyer and then left her career behind to do something that she truly loved. I did that when I ditched my poli sci degree/law school aspirations for art history... we have so much in common! yea right.

How would it be to design tablescapes like these and get paid to do it? I can only imagine. And I will for now... I get made fun of for being fancy, so I'll keep my ideas to myself. But I'm not going to lie, Ella's first birthday bash just might be fantastic.

AMAZING amazing dessert tables! As if dessert in and of itself couldn't get any better.... it just did. I wouldn't want to eat any of these works of art.

Creative rut

Right now I'm in that place where I can't quite finish anything, so I can't start anything new. It always takes me a few weeks to jump start myself in times like these... so for now, I'll just hang out with Kyle and Ella and try not to be too obnoxious.

I'll find myself buried in another project soon enough. It's nearly 90 days until Christmas... and since this is going to be mostly a handmade Christmas for friends and family this year, I better snap out of it and get to work.

If Only...

I could find patterns like this for Ella. As luck would have it, I found this just after it completely sold out... and the company doesn't think they'll reprint.

Perhaps I'll make my own.
