The best time for newborn pictures is within the first week... the sooner the better. Why? Because newborns are still curled up and super sleepy in the first week. So, if you're looking for cuddly pictures of your little one peacefully dreaming (like these), I'd recommend day 5 or sooner. Sessions generally last about 2 hours.This little girl was 6 days old and about 6 pounds...
Her Mom brought three blankets that were made by grandmas (and she made the colorful one below herself!) and we incorporated them into the shots for a more personal touch.
