Regin's Sweet 16 {New York City}

p.s. This was the first Sweet 16 celebration I've ever attended, and it was amazing (and I'm not going to lie, but I felt a little jealous that I didn't get one myself!).  You can see from the pictures that it was a beautiful event, but what you can't see from the pictures is the amazing support Regin received from her family and friends and members of her church and community groups.  I can't think of a better time of life to celebrate and remind a young lady of how loved, appreciated, and cherished she is.

My favorite moments were: the  speeches that Regin and her parents shared by candlelight, the dance that Regin and her friend choreographed and performed, and then the candle-lighting ceremony where she invited 16 individuals or groups who have helped shape the person she is.  It was truly something to behold, and I was honored to be there to capture it.
