Big Ben

Is it possible to have a crush on architecture? I guess I'm a true art history nerd. I just adore the Houses of Parliament. Its Perpendicular Gothic revival style gets me every time, that's what it's supposed to do. But the Houses of Parliament would be nothing without Big Ben. I never get tired of seeing or hearing this fine fellow.

You see? I'm obsessed. I will miss you, buddy.

Love these pictures.

You should have gotten the poem Composed Upon Westminster Bridge - by William Wordsworth - to read while you were there. :)

Funny. And just beautiful. I feel the same anytime I see photos of Muqarnas (sad how I'm limited to photos, someday I'll travel!) Makes me feel kind of possessive, ya know? Like I want to envelop it and make it all mine! Yeah, I's say I can definitely relate!

Melissa, I feel the same way about muqarnas... I wrote a paper about muqarnas for Finlayson and it's the only paper I actually go back and read. We should take trip someday... since we are probably some of the only two 'refined' individuals who would take that kind of trip. haha
