This was posted on the garage of one of the loveliest homes I've yet seen here in London. This sign made me laugh outloud and I definitely did a double take... though I think it's kind of mean. Especially since British people are so courteous. I would expect a sign like this would read "please refrain from the horrid thought of parking your vehicle anywhere in the vicinity of the street that might preclude the owner from using this garage. It is preferable to park outside this mews if at all possible and convenient to you. Thanks, thank you very much indeed. Ta." much closer to the tone I'm used to hearing.
The owner of this flat must be American.
