Have you ever had Lemon Passion cake at Macaroni Grill? I don't normally like cake, but man, this one had me floored. I found a recipe for it on the internet and tried it out last Christmas. It takes quite a while to put together all the various components, but it's definitely worth it. I made it again for our anniversary and it definitely didn't disappoint.
It's a lemon cake soaked in sweet cream and then topped with lemon mousse and whipped cream. The picture below shows only the lemon cake with the sweet cream. You could serve it as shown too and it would definitely be a showstopper even without the mousse and whipped cream. Mmmmmm.
It's bordering on a sugar overload, but it's definitely worth it.
